With God adding another year of strong family ties and fruitful ministries, Novaliches Christian Fellowship (NCF) celebrated its 26th Anniversary this August 2018 with the theme “Families Together, Serving the Lord Forever” derived from Joshua 24:15.
Taking the verse seriously, every Sunday anniversary was started with praise and worship led by family combos or duos – men and women who take the lead in Christian living inside the Church and beyond.
Each Sunday message, as delivered by NCF Senior Pastor Rev. Mark Dantes, focused on various aspects of family life that even long-time believers tend to ignore, from physical fitness to spiritual growth and protection.
Bearing the messages in mind, the congregation tasted of the Lord’s goodness by capping the first and last Sunday celebrations with two love feasts, each family sharing their food with the rest of the brethren – and in a boodle fight, to boot!
Various competitions were also held throughout August, such as the Bible Quiz Bee Faministry Edition, where ministries competed in teams in a test of Bible knowledge, the Videos Lifting Our God (VLOG) contest for around one to two minutes of video testimonies or dramas, and the culminating NCF Familympics, where the congregation was divided into groups of families and competed in a series of games that challenge their physical and mental teamwork.
Speaking of challenges, several ministries also challenged themselves to take the next steps both in their service to Christ as well as in their daily lives. PraiseMoves, composed of NCF members who exercise every Saturday with Christian music and dance to stay fit, celebrated its fourth anniversary with a special number.
Not to be outdone, the NCF Men of Truth formed their own Maneuvers and danced to the same music, proving that age and weight cannot stop the men of God – and that it’s never too late for the men to start exercising as well!
Meanwhile, many of the Clayhouse Ministry members made an important decision to keep their lives pure before God before marriage through a Purity Ceremony on August 12, 2018. Wearing their own purity rings, they promised to avoid all sexual immorality and to reserve themselves for the person God will choose for them in His own good time.
In its 26th year of existence, NCF strives to stay true to the challenge made by Joshua in the theme verse: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Praise the Lord!
